Chic, cosmopolitan Marmaris is an unobtrusive blend of old and new and the natural environment around the town remains unspoilt. Marmaris has a distinct 'Riviera' feel, stroll along the broad palm-lined promenade to the stylish pedestrianised Marina where stunning yachts float alongside traditional wooden fishing boats.Boats leave the harbour regularly to nearby bays and off shore islands, and if there's a group of you, hire your own boat for the day and explore the beautiful coastline at your leisure. Open-air pavement cafes and traditional tavernas line the waterfront and water-skiing and jet-skiing are available from the narrow beach that stretches right down the coast. Night life can be lively or relaxed, the choice is yours. Enjoy a refreshing glass of apple tea and watch some belly-dancing in the music bars or sip a cocktail in one of the elegant bars around the marina. There are sophisticated nightspots too for the late night revellers. With fantastic, dramatic scenery, the size and sheer variety of this exciting, friendly town shows why Turkey has been attracting visitors for thousands of years. |
